About East Bay's Top Real Estate Agents
I’m a mom, wife, East Bay resident, and a top real estate agent in partnership with Maggie.
One of my favorite quotes is by John C. Maxwell: “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Deep caring and honest communication are the core of who I am as an agent. I’m truly invested in each client’s real estate goals, and I take those dreams to heart as I steer them toward the best possible outcome.
Puzzles are a big part of what I love about our industry. Clients come to us from all walks of life with unique considerations. Determining how to achieve their goals requires a delicate balance of statistical savvy, skill, connections, and market knowledge. It’s these strengths, along with a dedication to listening, that help me deliver just what’s needed throughout the emotional process of buying or selling a home.
My story began in Visalia, where I grew up a tomboy with my mom, two brothers, and a real estate broker dad. I remember watching in awe as he helped people navigate life-changing home purchases and bittersweet home sales. This is when the seed was planted. Many years later, he convinced me to pursue a career in real estate, and I’m so glad he did. I love this business we are in.
The East Bay has been my home for many years. I’ve lived in Oakland, Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Moraga—strolling the blocks, discovering the parks, dining at the restaurants, and walking my kids to the schools. So it’s as a neighbor and an agent that I help clients pinpoint their perfect neighborhood.
Outside of work, my two young sons are my greatest source of joy and pride. They remind me to slow down and enjoy the simple moments. I’m also lucky to be married to a wonderful man who is my rock and sounding board in work and life. Outside of work, you may find me trying to fit in a yoga class, dreaming of mastering French, or catching up with former clients over a coffee at the local café.
But I’ve said enough about me. Here is what others have to say...
I am a proud East Bay native and I am deeply fortunate to raise my two daughters with my husband in Oakland.
After an 18 year career in environmental and social sustainability, I launched a boutique interior design firm called Hello Minnow in 2017. I can empathize with the risks and rewards involved in any home improvement project. There’s nothing more satisfying than bringing your vision to life - whether you're preparing your home for sale, or falling in love with its potential as a buyer.
I was thrilled to to join MAJ Realtors as a Partner in 2018. In growing the practice, I aspire to continue the legacy of skillful negotiation, industry savvy, and happy clients.
In 2021, I was honored to receive the California Association of Realtors "Rising Star Award", a designation given to only 18 Realtors across the state.
On the homefront, we’re deeply rooted in our neighborhood and dedicated to our community. One of my proudest contributions has been collaborating with my husband, our kids, our neighbors and their families to paint street murals that are slowing traffic, creating safe routes to school, and making our sidewalks a safer, more colorful, and more welcoming place for friendships and childhood. Additionally, we donate annually to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.
As an East Bay real estate agent, it’s my great pleasure to lend my business acumen and keen aesthetic to friends who become clients, and clients who become friends.
I’m a proud mother, wife and creative home chef who has made Richmond my home.
After growing up in Santa Barbara, my husband and I decided that the Bay Area was the best place to make our home and raise a family. Marina Bay has been my home since 1993. I enjoy taking an active part in community events throughout Richmond, El Cerrito and Kensington. I am a third-generation realtor who has over 25 years of experience in real estate operations, sales and management, including development of customer service techniques and transaction coordination. In 2015 I realized that there was a great need for transactional support for agents in our area. I started my own business to fill this need. In 2019 I met MAJ Realtors, a boutique real estate agency, who brought me on to run their transaction department. I was elated to join Maggie, Alissa and Jessica exclusively.
As the Director of Operations for MAJ Realtors, I am often not the most visible team member. But even from behind the scenes, it is my pleasure to assist with the success of the home buying and selling experience.
I’m Alyssa with a “Y”, but you can call me AJ if you’d like (to avoid confusion with Alissa Custer)! I’m an animal lover, foodie, and a Pinterest fanatic.
I have been a Bay Area resident my entire life and absolutely love where I live! I grew up in El Cerrito, attended elementary and high school in Berkeley, and returned back to reside in El Cerrito after graduating from Sonoma State University with a degree in Communications. I have truly developed an appreciation for the beautiful East Bay and knew I could not live anywhere else.
I am the MAJ team’s Marketing and Listing Coordinator. I have a passion for social media, marketing, interior design, décor and real estate, so much so that a favorite pastime is spending Sunday afternoons going to open houses! Working with the MAJ team could not be any more perfect, and I look forward to growing with them to make every client experience exceptional.
I’m a founding partner at MAJ Realtors, loyal friend, El Cerrito resident, and dog lover.
My story began in Springfield, Massachusetts, where I was born and raised. I studied education, then followed my calling into teaching and worked in the classroom for 17 years. You could say that my history in real estate began there.
My teaching background is a great asset to my work in real estate. As a teacher, you have to be an excellent communicator. The same holds true for being a realtor. I’m in constant communication with our clients. I use that savvy to help educate sellers about how to proceed to the market and get the highest price for their property that the market will bear.
Now that I'm retired, I feel that my true calling was fulfilled in my real estate career - matching the dearest friends and clients to the place they now call "home".
