About East Bay's Top Real Estate Agents
I’m a top real estate agent, loyal friend, El Cerrito resident, and dog lover.
A client once said I have the extra “it” factor—warmth, attentiveness, and a “we’re in this together” attitude. The review makes me blush. But truly, I love the business I am in, and I’m so proud of my close relationships with sellers and the beautiful homes we market for them. It’s my life’s work.
My story began in Springfield, Massachusetts, where I was born and raised. After high school, I migrated to Amherst and attended the University of Massachusetts. I studied education, then followed my calling into teaching and worked in the classroom for 17 years. You could say that my history in real estate began there.
My teaching background is a great asset to my work in real estate. As a teacher, you have to be an excellent communicator. The same holds true for being a realtor. I’m in constant communication with our clients. I use that savvy to help educate sellers about how to proceed to the market and get the highest price for their property that the market will bear.
In those early days after college, I often thought I would enjoy sales (the pitch! the win!), but I didn’t find a product I truly believed in until I realized that home ownership was that product. I’m so happy to have finally found my calling.
Here’s what I think sets me apart: I don’t just say I’m trustworthy, I truly am. I’ve been described as deeply genuine, and I am 100% dedicated to doing my job well. Although I’ve been in the business for 15 years, I’m more seasoned than many agents thanks to a high volume of sales. When it comes to the homes Alissa and I market for sellers, I couldn’t be more proud. We want them to show beautifully, and they do. We have fabulous resources for staging, repairs, and upgrades. We truly couldn’t do what we do without them.
In my free time, you may find me walking my dog, Anna (renowned Instagram star, our office mascot, and my beloved companion). Or I may be spending time with my two closest friends in the homes I convinced them to invest in. They’re still happily ensconced in them and I couldn’t be more proud.
I’m a mom, wife, East Bay resident, and a top real estate agent in partnership with Maggie.
One of my favorite quotes is by John C. Maxwell: “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Deep caring and honest communication are the core of who I am as an agent. I’m truly invested in each client’s real estate goals, and I take those dreams to heart as I steer them toward the best possible outcome.
Puzzles are a big part of what I love about our industry. Clients come to us from all walks of life with unique considerations. Determining how to achieve their goals requires a delicate balance of statistical savvy, skill, connections, and market knowledge. It’s these strengths, along with a dedication to listening, that help me deliver just what’s needed throughout the emotional process of buying or selling a home.
My story began in Visalia, where I grew up a tomboy with my mom, two brothers, and a real estate broker dad. I remember watching in awe as he helped people navigate life-changing home purchases and bittersweet home sales. This is when the seed was planted. Many years later, he convinced me to pursue a career in real estate, and I’m so glad he did. I love this business we are in.
The East Bay has been my home for many years. I’ve lived in Oakland, Berkeley, El Cerrito, and Moraga—strolling the blocks, discovering the parks, dining at the restaurants, and walking my kids to the schools. So it’s as a neighbor and an agent that I help clients pinpoint their perfect neighborhood.
Outside of work, my two young sons are my greatest source of joy and pride. They remind me to slow down and enjoy the simple moments. I’m also lucky to be married to a wonderful man who is my rock and sounding board in work and life. Outside of work, you may find me trying to fit in a yoga class, dreaming of mastering French, or catching up with former clients over a coffee at the local café.
But I’ve said enough about me. Here is what others have to say...
I am a proud East Bay native and I am deeply fortunate to raise my two daughters with my husband in Oakland.
After an 18 year career in environmental and social sustainability, I was thrilled when the opportunity came up to leave the corporate world and join Maggie and Alissa in our dynamic real estate market. I met Alissa and Maggie through my residential interior design studio, Hello Minnow, and felt an immediate kinship with these two real estate mavens. In joining their practice, I aspire to continue their legacy of skillful negotiation, industry savvy, and happy clients.
Looking back, my adventures in home renovation led me to start Hello Minnow in 2017. I can empathize with the risks and rewards involved in any home improvement project. I’ve survived multiple home renovations and lived to tell the tale—I know exactly how rewarding it is to see all the hard work, planning, and patience transform a diamond in the rough into a beloved and beautiful haven. There’s nothing more satisfying than bringing your vision to life. You can rest assured we’ll guide you to improvements that will yield the highest return on your investment.
On the homefront, we’re deeply rooted in our neighborhood and dedicated to our community. Our kids walk to their public elementary school each morning and along the way we are greeted by the best friends and neighbors. One of my proudest contributions has been collaborating with my husband, our kids, our neighbors and their families to paint street murals that are slowing traffic, creating safe routes to school, and making our sidewalks a safer, more colorful, and more welcoming place for friendships and childhood. Lastly, I sit on the Board of Shawl Anderson Dance Center, a very special and unique hub of creativity and inclusion for all bodies who love to dance.
With an experienced realtor at your side, the home selling and purchasing process can be joyful and fulfilling. It’s my role to be a partner, coach, and guide to navigating the complex world of home buying and listing.
As an East Bay real estate agent, it’s my great pleasure to lend my business acumen and keen aesthetic to friends who become clients, and clients who become friends.
My favorite things in life are connecting with people, breaking down confusing or complex processes into digestible chunks, and guiding people through big events in their lives to the light at the end of the process. I have lived in 4 countries in my adult life, and have had the humbling experience of being at the beginning stages of learning a language, while also adapting to a foreign culture.
It is always in these vulnerable moments that human kindness takes center stage, and I am reminded of what is great about people and life.
In addition to my Realtor® credentials, I have a Masters in Education, and have taught English as a Second Language both here and abroad for over 15 years. My students ranged in age from 15 to 75+, and came not only from a myriad of different countries, but also from all walks of life. I skillfully and with a great deal of passion and joy, guided my students through the vulnerable experience of learning a new language and integrating into a new culture.
Home is personal. Buying or selling your home is a vulnerable journey full of complex processes, and intricate laws and regulations. Let me be your guide through to your next iteration of home. It would be my privilege to serve you.
